WTP bits back with new designs

Winning Tongue Plate bitThe Winning Tongue Plate bit (WTP) has been re-released with some key changes. After fielding assorted feedback from their first versions of Ring Bit, Snaffle Bit & D-Sel bits, the WTP bits are back and the manufacturers are confident you will love the changes made.

For example with the Ring Bit, the large ring runs through the plate, so there is no small retaining ring required as with regular Ring Bits, making it more comfortable. You now have the choice of using this bit as your standard Ring Bit with a normal plate, or like the original – with an extended plate which prevents the tongue getting over the bit and soft palate displacement.

Where’s Ray?

Ray MarkeyThank you to all the people who have enquired lately about Ray. He hasn’t been active over the last 3 weeks after surgery, and his absence has been noticed by quite a few of our regular customers. He has been off with a hernia operation and another procedure.

He is resting up for a few more weeks, and then it won’t be long before he is a regular around the traps again, doing what he loves. It has been a very busy period in his absence, but we have managed to keep his truck chugging along to Rosehill & Warwick Farm barrier trials, and our weekly Randwick run every Thursday morning.

I have passed on all your well wishes to him, and he thanks you all very much.

Helmet Update & Special Offer

racing helmetWe still have not been informed by the ARB about when they will introduce their new standard for helmets in Australia, the ARB HS 2012.

So as a result, we have decided to get on the front foot and put an offer to anyone wanting to purchase an existing standard helmet. As has been highlighted previously in our newsletter, when the ARB enforce a date of compliance for their new standard helmet, jockeys will be given 6 months and track riders 12 months to comply with this new standard.

So if anyone purchases an existing standard helmet between October 1 and the date when the ARB release their ARB HS 2012 compliance date, we will give you $100 credit towards the purchase price of any helmet that meets the ARB HS 2012 standard.

We understand your frustration of not wanting to commit to an existing standard helmet, especially if it may soon be non-compliant. We also understand your older helmet may have expired while you await the release date of the new standard. So don’t delay your helmet decision any longer, commit to an existing standard helmet now and benefit from a $100 credit towards the purchase of a new standard helmet when they are released.

Japanese Gloves

Japanese GlovesWe are now fully stocked again with the ever popular Japanese race gloves. The synthetic suede grip has always been a favourite of jockeys and some track riders alike. Supply of this glove had been an issue following the tragic tsunami that struck Japan some time back now, but this has been overcome and we are able to offer them once again at the retail price of $39.95. We’ll take up where we left off with the multi-buy special of 3 for $99. Colours include Black, White and Red, Sizes Small, Medium and Large:
