In a nutshell, the ARB believes that if a helmet can meet certain higher performance safety requirements, then its industry participants should be given the opportunity to ride in such a helmet.

A new standard, to be known as the ARB HS 2012, will be introduced in the near future.

Jockeys will be given 6 months, and trackwork riders will be given 12 months, to comply with this new safety standard once the ARB declares a date of compliance. We are not aware when this date of compliance will be declared, but it could be as early as 1st January 2013, or as late as 1st January 2014. If you are in need of a new raceday or trackwork helmet, don’t hesitate to contact us to discuss your options.
